There's something special about a birthday at sea. The Atlantic breeze, Table Mountain glowing in the late sun and your favourite people on deck with a drink in hand. It's a party nobody forgets in a hurry. If you've been searching for birthday party yacht hire prices in Cape Town, you're in the right place. Below we break down what our boats actually cost, what's included, a few ways to make the day even better, and how to find a package that fits your budget and style.
Cape Town's coastline is gorgeous, and a yacht gives you the best seat in town. Here's why more people are swapping a restaurant table for a sea view:
Boat type and size – Big luxury motor yachts cost more than catamarans and small sailing boats.
Charter length – Most boats charge by the hour, with a 1 to 3 hour minimum. Half and full days are quoted separately.
Season and time – Summer weekends and sunset slots are the busiest and can cost more.
Add-ons – Catering, decor, a photographer and entertainment sit on top of the boat rate.
Number of guests – Some boats charge a flat rate, and the bigger catamarans have higher rates for bigger groups.

Ask what's included – Some boats include drinks or snacks, others don't.
Think weekdays – Often quieter on the water and easier to book.
Watch the numbers – Too many people on a small boat spoils the vibe.

Custom birthday decor on Only One Yacht
It starts at R7,000 an hour for a small boat like Le Cat (12 guests). Catamarans for bigger groups run about R12,000 to R21,800 an hour, and luxury motor yachts like Princess Emma cost about R62,600 for the 3-hour minimum. Full-day charters are quoted on request.
For summer weekends and December dates, book at least 2 to 3 months ahead. Weekdays and winter dates are easier to get at shorter notice.
Some boats allow it and others need you to use our catering, so check with us first. Corkage can apply to your own drinks.
Sunset cruises are hard to beat for photos and atmosphere, but daytime charters are better if you want to swim.
Most of our charters welcome all ages. Let us know if children are coming so the crew can have the right life jackets on board.
