Explore Catamaran

Explore Catamaran is the perfect cruising experience with a difference. Our recently renovated 39-foot (11-meter) sailing or motorized catamaran is docked at the iconic V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. It offers a spacious covered entertainment area complete with a large bar and comfortable padded seating throughout. Additionally, you can bask in the South African sunshine on the trampoline section located at the front of the boat while cruising the Cape Town seas.

Our catamaran boasts a cash/card bar, gas braai/cooking facility, two heads (toilets), a galley (kitchen), onboard sound system, teak decking, blankets, two swim ladders, hot showers, water toys, and free Wi-Fi. We also offer a range of add-on activities to make your cruise extra special, including a private chef, gin, wine, or whiskey tasting and pairings, as well as a photographer/videographer. For the more adventurous guests, we have options like stand-up paddleboarding (SUPing), and jet skis.

Our catamaran can accommodate up to 40 passengers, but for maximum comfort, we recommend a capacity of 30 with three to four crew members. Don't wait any longer to create special memories of your cruising experience in Cape Town onboard the Explore Catamaran.

Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by professional crew. Additionally, Explore Catamaran offers the following amenities:

Bar:

An onboard cash or card bar is available for your convenience.

If you prefer to bring your own drinks, a corkage fee will be charged. The fee is R2,000 for 2 hours, and R1,000 per hour thereafter, if you choose not to use the onboard bar.

Wine and sparkling wine corkage fee is R50 per bottle, while hard liquor is R100 per bottle, if they are not on the beverage list. Please note that ciders, beers or soft drinks are not permitted. It is important that you bring your own containers and ice to keep your drinks chilled.

Catering:

Please note that menu options must be arranged prior to the charter and are available for your convenience.

Gas BBQ/Braai facilities are available at an additional usage fee of R500. If you would like a designated Braaimaster, a fee of R500 will apply. However, please keep in mind that the crew cannot braai.

You are welcome to bring your own food and snacks. Please note that cutlery, crockery, and plates are not included, so kindly bring your own

Service fee:

Please note that a 10% service charge will be added to the cost of food and drinks.

DJ / Entertainer:

Onboard sound system with USB, Bluetooth or AUX connection (supply on AUX cable) is available, should you wish to bring your own music.

If require additional base & volume for your event a JBL Bluetooth speaker is available for hire at a R500 fee.

We have numerous DJs on our supplier list and are happy to facilitate that for you. Cape Town based Singer/Entertainer details available on request.

You are welcome to supply your own DJ, however they will need to bring their own equipment and speakers. Use of the generator @ R500 (as there is no power out at sea).

Explore Catamaran boasts a diverse set of amenities designed to provide you with optimal comfort and enjoyment. These include a cash/card bar, gas braai facilities, a galley (kitchen), two heads (toilets), a trampoline area with a roof covering, an onboard sound system, padded seating, teak decking, blankets, two swim ladders, hand-held showers, water toys, free Wi-Fi, and two double cabins. It's important to note that while the cabins are available for overnight stays, they cannot be used during daytime charters.

Route

The Explore Catamaran's most in-demand cruise route embarks from Granger Bay and passes by the renowned lighthouse and Sea Point, then advances to Clifton Beach, presenting spectacular sights of Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles Mountain range en route. Nevertheless, the skipper may choose to navigate other locations within Table Bay and its vicinity, taking into account weather and sea conditions. Ultimately, the skipper holds the authority to determine the final course.

Weather

The duration and itinerary of your Explore Catamaran cruise could be influenced by weather circumstances and will be decided by the skipper. We want to assure you that the safety of you and your guests is of utmost importance to us.

Looking for some extra excitement on your private charter aboard the Explore Catamaran? Consider adding some of our water sports activities such as jet skis, a 3-man Super Tube (couch) and inflatable SUP boards & paddle.
