Cape Town Fishing Charters

Mirage is a 47ft Viking Sport that can accommodate 10 passengers and 2 crew members. Join us for a day of fishing in world-renowned fishing grounds. Remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, and a change of clothes. Arrive at least 30 minutes early. Our skilled skipper and crew will provide a safety briefing and information session before your fishing trip begins.

Half Day Tour:

Embark on a 4-hour fishing charter aboard the 47ft Viking Sport. Departing from Granger Bay (located behind Radisson Blu), the boats set sail at 8am and 2pm every day. The package includes the boat and a skilled skipper, permits, fishing tackle, bait, selected beverages, and snacks.

Pax: Min 3 People / Max 10 people

Duration: 4-hour boat trip / 8am or 2pm departure

Full Day Tour:

Embark on a full-day fishing charter aboard the 47ft Viking Sport. Departing from Granger Bay (located behind Radisson Blu), the boats set sail at 5am. The package includes the boat and a skilled skipper, permits, fishing tackle, bait, selected beverages, and snacks.

Pax: Min 3 - Max 10 people

Duration: 8-hour boat trip (FULL DAY) 5am - 6pm

Bar:

A section of local beers, waters and soft drinks is available. You are welcome to bring your own.

Fishing Locations:

Atlantic Seaboard:

Embark on an inshore fishing adventure off the shores of Sea Point, Clifton, Camps Bay, and Oudekraal. Choose between a half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) excursion. Enjoy bottom fishing primarily for Cape Bream, Silverfish, and Jacopever, all while taking in the stunning views of Table Mountain. Depending on the season, you may also catch Cape Snoek, Yellowtail, and Slender Tuna.

Robben Island:

Embark on a fishing charter to the surrounding waters off Robben Island for either a half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) trip. Guests will have a great chance to catch Cape Snoek, Yellowtail, and possibly Geelbek. This memorable fishing experience offers breath-taking views of Table Mountain and the vibrant Mother City.

Offshore Charters:

Cape Town is renowned for its exceptional big game fishing. A staggering 10% of the world's tuna catch is harvested in this area, with regular landings of Yellowfin Tuna weighing over 100kg. Experience an exhilarating full-day deep-sea, big game fishing adventure departing at 06:00, offering breath-taking offshore bird sightings. Expect daily catches of Long-fin Tuna, Yellow-fin Tuna, Mako Sharks, Blue Sharks, Dorado, and occasionally, Marlin.

What happens with the fish that are caught:

A significant portion of our daily catch is donated to our acclaimed partner soup kitchens and social upliftment projects, providing meals for up to 12,000 children every month. Guests are welcome to take a small portion of the day's catch for personal consumption, which they can prepare at home or have cooked and enjoyed. Sharks, Marlin, and other fish classified as unsustainable by SASSI (Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative) are caught and released.
